Frequently asked questions
I live in another country, can you still help me?
A resounding yes! I have been working with clients online for some time. I offer online counselling via webcam, using similar technology to Skype. You can read more about it on my blog. Online Counselling: Does it work?
But I'm in a different time zone, are you sure?
Yes, that's no problem. On the booking page you can select your timezone and the availability updates automatically. I could be speaking to you when it's morning in the UK and evening where you are or vice versa.
Can I see you in person?
Of course! I work from an office in London. My counselling practice began supporting clients offline and will continue to do so. I work from attractive, private offices in the city of London with good lighting, waiting area and use of facilities. You can check my current availability for face to face counselling on the booking page.
What counselling model do you use?
My theoretical orientation is psychodynamic. Psychodynamic therapy is very much focussed on processes that are outside of our awareness. These are formed as a result of our experience so talking about your past to make sense of your present is an important part of the therapy. By uncovering these processes together we can bring them into awareness to help facilitate greater understanding of ourselves and from here behaviours can change.
How do I know if you're the right counsellor for me?
It's hard to gauge how someone is without speaking to them. It's one of the reasons why I offer a free 15 minute telephone consultation to help put minds at rest. Often after hearing a voice we start to realise if the person would be suitable or not. This can be booked using my booking system.
Do you offer any concessions?
I can offer concessions on a case by case basis, usually to those that are unemployed or on low incomes. Please contact me if you wish to enquire.
